KARACH: Corporate social responsibility is an upcoming and positive commitment on part of big companies to proactively and positively act to be a benefactor of the society of which it is a citizen. This was stated by the Vice President of Engro Fertilizer while addressing government officers at the inauguration of the water purification plants by DC and SSP Ghotki, on Sunday.
“Corporate Social Responsibility is an uncompromising commitment on the part of the company, to proactively and positively act to be a benefactor of the society of which it is a citizen.
As the company is expanding we need to strengthen the company’s relations with the surrounding community.”
Addressing the demands of the community, two reverse osmosis (RO) water filter plants were installed at villages Kaloo Burriro and Kotlo Mirza at the cost of Rs 2 millions. One such water filter plant was installed in village Bhago Bhutto in 2011, and was currently fully functional.
The water filter plants were inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Ghotki, Agha Nasir Pathan and SSP Ghotki, Irfan Ali Baloch, while Inamullah Naveed Khan VP manufacturing and Farhan Ansari were also present on the occasion.
Both Government officials were of the view that these water filter plants will improve the health of the community comprising over 600 people living in these villages.
It was informed that Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO) were the funding and organising partners in the project.
